“DO OPPOSITES STILL ATTRACT?”
A lot of the time, we shy away from what feels different from us. We used to say “opposites attract”, yet today we often judge or mistrust what we don’t immediately understand. We are living in a moment of separation and uncertainty and I believe it’s time to look for ways to reconnect.
This exhibition presents seven pairs of photographs. At first glance, each pair may seem like an opposition, but perhaps the contrast is not as stark as it appears. Whether it’s the breathtaking openness of Pachamama (Mother Earth, in Quechua), or the towering geometry of a man-made skyline, both images hold presence, force, and quiet meaning. The connection between them, what you see, feel, or sense is yours to define. None of the photographs have titles, only locations. I do not want to impose a narrative onto a single captured moment. I’ve already offered one point of view by pairing each image with another; the rest belongs to you. The world is dense with perspectives, stories, and contradictions, but we must not lose sight of the similarities that still bind us. At the end of the day, what matters is your own authentic reading of what’s in front of you.
So you, the viewer, take it from here.
